Ghazi Movie Review

Ghazi Movie Review

Patriotism and war are the two main elements in this movie which are not new to the Telugu silver screen. But this is the first time in Indian Cinema to do a movie based on the war with enemy country under water.
Even commercially also we can say it is an experimental film. So this Rana's movie under the direction of Sankalp Reddy completed the special screening midst high expectations.
In the year of 1971, at the time of Indo-Pak war at the banks of the sea in Visakhapatnam, the real war took place between Indian Navy and Pakistan Navy is the gist of the movie. Sankalp Reddy with this movie tried to show how the submarine war takes place between two countries underwater.

The multilingual film with so many hopes. Did it reach the expectations? Does the director succeeded in portraying the movie well? Let's see the review.
Outline of the movie :

As already said, the movie showed the untold story of the Indo-Pak war and showed the truth that is forgotten a long time ago. In 1971 war, Pakistan Army to help the soldiers that are fighting with Bangladesh(Part of Pakistan then) army sends the Ghazi submarine from the naval base in Karachi to Bangladesh sea banks.
For the submarine to reach Bangladesh it must pass through Indian waters. But there is an Indian War Submarine named INS Vikranth protecting that area underwater. So Pakistan army plans an evil sketch to destroy the Indian submarine and reach Bangladesh.

Getting the report of this evil plan Indian Navy to defend itself and fight the opposition sends a Indian submarine S-21. At the same time Pak Navy plans to bomb on the boats on Visakapatnam sea

How the Indian Navy Leftinent Commander Arjun(Rana), Captain RanVijay Singh(K.K.Menon) fighted to protect our country? The war that took place for 18 whole days underwater to destroy Pakistan Submarine Ghazi forms the story of this movie.
How is it?

For current generation people only know about Kargil War or some other wars that took place between India and Pakistan. We have to appreciate the team's effort to show how war happened between Indo-Pak and how our Indian Navy succeeded in destroying Ghazi.
Almost 90% of the movie scenes are shooted inside a submarine. The audience can only see the inside of submarine for the entire movie. But still the story is so thrilling which makes the audience stick to their chairs. For this type of patriotic movie it is important to connect the story to the audience. Only then people will feel how the main leads struggle. In this point of view we can say thay director succeeded. Patriotism takes birth in every one among the audience when Ghazi was destroyed.
The cast of the movie is very few. So to keep the audience for 2 hours inside the theatres the screenplay should play the role. We can say the screenplay for this movie did a great job.

Even though some Indian Navy related technical words are not understandable it doesn't matter that much. The submarine set Sankalp Reddy designed is simply outstanding. The technical team did an admirable job in portraying the submarine and its interior exceptionally well.
Submarine submerging into the deepwater, coming out of the water, continuos torpedo with other country, S-21, counterattacks on Ghazi, everything are shown amazingly with visual effects. Its attractive how it explained the way each and department of the Indian Navy works.
Cast and crew, Technical team work:

There are only characters in the movie. We must appreciate Rana's insight to select this wonderful story and his role. The audience will love K.KMenon's role too. We would think it would have been good if he appers on screen more time. Tapsee has no importance for her role. Ompuri and Nazar's screen time is low too.

Technically Ghazi is a wonderful film. It beautifully portrayed the Submarine and its interiors. They used visual effects well to show the submarine motions. Cinematography is good too. Director Sankalp Reddy modified the script well to depict the story with some fiction.

He makes the audience feel that they are really inside a submarine the whole time. But his zero experience is shown when he failed to maintain emotions well. Krishna Kumar's background music needs special mention. Editing is average. PVP, PV, Matinee entertainments production values are up to the mark.
Finally..
Ghazi will be liked by each and every one of the audience who wants something new.
